It is easy to fall in to the trap of thinking that Bradford’s current turmoil makes the national pay ballot less of a priority.
Nothing can be further from the truth!
Solidarity over the pension dispute raised the profile of UCU at Bradford, and demonstrated clearly to a management dismissive of the branch that we DO have a role to play and CAN stand up for our rights. The level of support and participation sent a shock wave that management ought not be allowed to forget.
It is vitally important therefore that every member casts their vote on the present pay ballot. High levels of participation demonstrate to management that we remain an active and relevant Union.
UCU recommends a yes vote for industrial action to challenge what it considers to be a derisory offer of 2%. Your choice is for you and your conscience, but your participation is key.
Please vote before the ballot closes 19th October.
